Central Florida Council, Boy Scouts of America
A product of the program, Eagle Scout Randy Steil believes in helping young people by instilling in them the values of the Boy Scout Oath & Law. He has worked in the Scouting Movement for nine years and has quickly progressed into one of the top young professionals in the Boy Scout organization. In his current role as senior development director, serving Central Florida, he is responsible for building partnerships with top business and community leaders to continue to grow the scouting program for the more than 23,000 youth and 8,000 adult volunteers who are involved in the program. By providing leadership to the varied fundraising needs of the council, including the Boy Scout Golden Eagle Dinners, golf tournaments and sporting clays shoots, he is responsible for growing their $6,000,000 budget each year.
Randy’s positive attitude and vision for the program has enabled him to succeed in each new challenge that is placed before him. He has a keen eye for seeing new opportunities and knows how to make partnerships valuable for everyone. Randy works daily to share the scouting story and build lasting relationships. Each new relationship is a chance to help those young men who are facing financial hardships not only join the scouting program, but also provide outdoor experiences they cannot get in a school classroom.
Randy has been married to his wife, Melanie, for three years and they have a very energetic 2-year-old son. They are active in their church and enjoy spending time outdoors, playing sports and spending time with family.
