Pamela Bratton began her banking career over 30 years ago. “My husband was in the military and I was working at the commissary when the manager of our credit union approached me to work for him as a teller. Needless to say I did, and that really started my career. I worked for him for about 5 years, then I approached a savings and loan for a consumer lending marketing job. I was hired and thought that to be the best job ever!”
Bratton worked for them for 10 years, and after the first 3 years became a branch manager in the Sonoma County area in California. She then received a promotion and started managing a larger branch in Marin County.
“During that time my husband passed away, my kids grew up and I was looking for a change. My youngest daughter moved to Florida. I came out to visit and a year later I moved out here. Then my brother and mother followed. So we Californians all became Florida residents! I have 3 children and my grandchildren range from ages 4 to 21.”
She continued her banking career and over time received the opportunity to become a project manager where she worked on developing all the home loan centers into laptop and point of sale activity. “I was responsible with one other person to do this throughout the United States including Hawaii. This was a wonderful job; we had so much fun and I was able to see so many interesting places within the United States.”
After the project ended, she went to work for another bank for about 10 years. “Just recently I came to Fidelity Bank of Florida as a vice president commercial lender. With Fidelity Bank of Florida, I do commercial lending and focus on the SBA programs, as well as investor properties and loans for working capital and equipment. I am working with a great team, led by Robert Good and Lamar Roberts.
