Harold Boyett, CEO
Founded in 1984

At age 18, Harold Boyett began his career in the delivery business at UPS. Today, he is CEO of Blue Streak Couriers. Since Boyett’s ownership began in 2005, the company has expanded from the Jacksonville/Northeast Florida market to its current operation in 26 states. He saw an opportunity to expand by modifying the business model from a primary focus on banks and credit unions to transporting tangible products, including clinical lab work and supply distribution in the office products and healthcare industries. Blue Streak Couriers has grown and diversified significantly and is on course to become a nationwide transportation company.

Blue Streak Couriers was a 2011 honoree of the GrowFL Companies to Watch (CTW), a recognition program for high performing second-stage entrepreneurs. “When you’re standing in a room full of several hundred people being recognized, it’s definitely a gratifying feeling, which reinforces your company’s momentum,” Boyett said. Being a CTW honoree led Boyett to participate in a CEO Nexus Roundtable, which is offered in conjunction with the Edward Lowe Foundation and designed specifically for leaders of second-stage companies. Boyett credits feedback from roundtable members for helping accelerate Blue Streak’s expansion.

CEO Nexus, in collaboration with the Center for Advanced Entrepreneurship at Rollins College, Florida High Tech Corridor Council and GrowFL, brings together leaders of established growth-oriented businesses in a confidential setting to meet and learn from CEO peers who have grown their companies into more advanced stages of business development. The CEO Nexus Cup is a traveling trophy and member-recognition award, recognizing those companies that have achieved growth and entrepreneurial success, in part due to their collaboration with CEO Nexus.
