Forty-one volunteers donate time to Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida
ORLANDO (August 8, 2017) – Employees from RSM US LLP (RSM) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – recently held its eighth annual RSM US Volunteer Day to benefit local and national nonprofits across the country.
In Orlando, more than 40 RSM employees spent their day sorting and packing food for Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida as a contribution to local food relief efforts.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida’s core program includes distributing tens of millions of meals per year for more than 550 local nonprofit feeding organizations. “Our food bank is sustained by the generosity of the community and relies on more than 29,000 volunteers a year,” said Dave Krepcho, Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida President/CEO. “We are fortunate to have community partners like RSM who are willing to contribute their time, talents, and resources to help neighbors in need. We couldn’t do it without them.”
“At RSM, we understand the importance of giving back to the communities where our employees live and work,” said Clay Worden, managing partner, RSM Orlando. “Local and regional volunteer initiatives such as the activities for Second Harvest Food Bank allows our employees and friends of the firm to strengthen their relationships with one another while bettering the communities.”
In addition to the RSM Orlando office’s volunteer day, RSM’s Dollars for Doers program provides grants through the RSM US Foundation to match employees’ direct volunteer time serving eligible charities that reflect the foundation’s mission: Building tomorrow’s middle market leaders by supporting programs focused on education and organizations serving youth in the areas of hunger, housing and health in the communities where RSM employees live and work.
