ORLANDO, Fla. (August 14, 2017) – The School Board of Seminole County, Florida has selected C.T. Hsu + Associates to provide architectural and engineering design services for the renovation of Pine Crest Elementary School in Sanford. The school was recently named The School of Innovation for its use of the latest instructional technology to make learning both meaningful and interactive.
The firm will design a campus master plan that increases the number of permanent student stations from 732 to 837 in a state-of-the-art facility incorporating collaborative spaces to create a 21st century learning environment. This emergent education model advanced by the Partnership for 21st Century Learning), is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in a globally and digitally interconnected world.
The scope includes the demolition of the majority of the existing buildings, remodeling of two classroom buildings, and approximately 90,000 square feet of new construction. Other site improvements include the improvement of vehicle circulation and parking for both parent and bus loading areas, site utilities, and storm water collection and management.
The scope also involves developing a construction phasing strategy that minimizes disruptions and keeps the existing campus fully occupied and operational during construction.
